- Lower Your Mowing Height During the fall, we recommend lowering your mowing height to under 2 inches. This helps thicken the lawn and assists with the removal of fall leaves. And most importantly, your lawn builds up tolerance to the stress of winter weather. By spring, you will have a stronger, more vibrant lawn with outstanding color.

It helps with root development, fall recovery and spring green up.
- Rose Gardens Fall is an ideal time to improve bloom set and quality for next summer. Roses need to be pruned or cut back, and the base of the plant needs to be protected with 6 inches of mulch. This helps protect the rose bush from the harsh winter weather. You may also use a rose and garden organic fertilizer product to support growth through the winter.
- Perennial Flowers Like roses, these flowers need to be protected from the harshness of winter weather. Perennial flowers should be cut back to the ground and mulched, and like roses, use 6 inches of mulch. After mulching and pruning, we recommend feeding the plants with a flower fertilizer product to support growth through the winter.
- Annual Flowers Annual flowers need to be removed and the soil tilled. During the tilling process, an organic flower fertilizer product may be added to the soil to help improve the soil conditions for spring.

- Vegetable Garden Fall is the time to clean out dead vegetable plants and till the soil. This is also the time to prepare the garden for spring planting. We recommend an organic all purpose fertilizer be applied. Be sure the product is tilled into the soil as it helps breakdown old vegetable organic matter and rejuvenates the soil nutrient levels. You will have a more fruitful garden the following summer.
- Ornamental Trees, Shrubs & Ground Cover Beds Fall is a great time to prune and clean up ornamental planting beds. Pruning older stems makes room for new growth and enhances plant quality and bloom set. Plants weakened by the stress of summer are best fed in the fall. Soil temperature promotes new root growth, which is enhanced by a good fall feeding from an organic acid loving plants feed product. This improves the nutrient levels to promote the vigor for the sweet bloom of spring.
